"Esther Yaa Alofe is my name. I was born on April 16, 1981 in Kumasi. After finishing primary school, I studied at the Armed Forces Secondary from 1997 to 1999. My major concentration was in business accounting.
"I began to love painting while in elementary school, which drew me nearer to Bernard Mensah [a Novica featured painter]. After I completed school, he trained me everyday for years until I can now paint from my own sense of creativity.
"To my parents, I say, 'Long life!' God bless their generation. They have contributed a lot in making me what I am today. As I was the first born, they encouraged me and never hesitated in assisting me with anything I requested.
"The community where I live inspires me to paint through their way of dressing and their activities. Painting is my part-time activity and it is something I love to do whenever I am free.
"I use both palette knife and brush, and prefer acrylic on canvas. I don't have a studio; I paint in the house.
"I paint to tell of nature and to motivate people in life. I have not yet mounted an exhibition but hope to do so soon."
