'Galaxy'

L. Ferraz expertly transmits through this painting the galaxy's immensity and its hypnotic attraction. Color expands with unrestrained force as the sun's rays gradually become eclipsed by the moon's shadow. Meanwhile, blue lights appear like mystical life forms. Ferraz creates contrasting textures to emphasize the impact that this painting makes. He mixes sand and plaster and uses acrylic paints for color.

"I was born in Rio and developed my interest in arts parallel to my professional activity as an architect. At first I worked with watercolors, moving later to oil on canvas, painting realistic portraits, landscapes and seascapes.

"I am a self-taught artist with a good omen in my stars, as I won the gold medal in the III Salão de Artes da ARTEC in 1991.

"My participation in exhibits resulted in a number prizes, of which I consider most important the gold medal awarded in the V Brazilian Art Exhibition at the Roodeport Museum in Johannesburg, South Africa (1996). My most recent exhibition was in the Galeria Tarsila do Amaral, in the Estácio de Sá Cultural Center in 2003.

"Currently I have come back to painting with acrylic. My passion for watercolors, however, led me to use them as thin solutions and in solutions with textures, and thus the Deep Sea series was born."

I ordered the picture 'Roads 1V' from the picture. Then the painting arrived and nothing prepared me for the spectacular colors and striking contrasts of this beautiful work. I am absolutely delighted!...
