Jorge Chavez

Born on November 11, 1965, Jorge Chavez graduated with a university degree in fine arts and has practiced his art since 1995. He is inspired by nature itself, and his works strive to transmit his love for the simple things of the natural world. Chavez works primarily in oils and acrylics, applying color with both brush and palette knife.

He has exhibited his work throughout Peru, as well as in Mexico, Ecuador and Germany. Participating in a contest sponsored by an international beverage company in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001, his works received an honorable mention award (Trujillo, 1998); the artist also participates in the Latin American Integration Competition in Loja, Ecuador. His greatest challenge is to mount an individual exhibit outside Peru, and for his name to occupy a space of its own in the world of art.

"Novica represents the best artists in Peru. This is what I feel," he says.
