"I was born on November 15, 1975 as the third of four children. My father, Made Puspa, works at an Indonesian Radio Station, and my mother, Made Bambang Rai Kasumari, is a lecturer in the Faculty of Dance in STSI [College of Indonesian Art].
"When I was in secondary school I took a painting course at Denpasar's Art Center and I enrolled in Interior Design at the Udayana University. But I dropped out after only until five semesters, and worked at as a Sample Assistant creating handicrafts. After working for a period of time I decided to return to my studies and in 2000 I enrolled at STSI and plan to Major in Fine Art - and hopefully this time hopefully I can finish it.
"Balinese traditional life and every aspect of Balinese culture inspire my work because these themes are so interesting and they will never fade. In 2000 I exhibited my paintings in the 'Study of Form' and 'Study of Color' exhibits, both held at STSI in Denpasar.
"In 1997, I married Wayan Astiti and now we have two children, a boy and a girl. Just like my mother, my wife is also a dancer and she has a Balinese dance studio. I'm very happy and feel lucky for knowing Novica, which will help in promoting my work into an international level through Internet."
