"My name is Kanittha Puangsri. I was born on October 9, 1981 in the northern lands of Chiang Mai. I have three brothers and a sister, and I am the third born. My family lives in love and harmony. We all take good care of each other, and support one another in everything.
"I lead a balanced way of life; everything seems to run smoothly. I am an agreeable person and I have many friends, for I don't like to be alone. I am a Buddhist who takes refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the order. I worship Buddha, go to the temple, make merits, observe religious precepts, and follow the Dharma. As a Thai citizen, I live by Thai culture and traditions – I especially like northern culture and traditions, because Chiang Mai is my hometown, and also because it houses many sites of an ancient civilization.
"I graduated from Rajamangala University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts with a major in Graphic Art. I immediately went into a Master's Degree in Graphic Arts, which I studied at a renowned university in the north of Thailand. I was so proud when I received a scholarship in 2003! I was one of the three students from my university who received it. My family was also very proud, and we were all so happy. My oldest brother now supports my studies – he helps my father in his business. I am quite industrious and I concentrate on my studies, because I would like to graduate as soon as possible. Then I'd like to become a teacher so I can pass on my knowledge to the next generation of students who are interested in art as much as I am.
"At the moment my favorite technique is etching. I have been practicing every day, for about six years, and I think I have become quite skilled. The themes I've been working on blend mystery, ghosts, and distant countryside villages. I don't think of it as a scary subject – I am interested in knowing and developing the surreal aspect of it.
"Novica is a big, big gallery for me. This is a place where young and old people alike can present their interpretation of life to the world, creating a new vision of the world. Novica opens minds. Novica allows others to receive ideas from the whole world, and for this, I must thank Novica so much."
