"Art and painting have always attracted me, but I was able to study it only after my children were grown. It was through a friend's incentive that I joined the Brazilian Society of Fine Arts and began to exhibit my work in public.

"I paint because I love to and, up until then, only my relatives and close friends were familiar with my work. When I began to participate in art exhibits, I was quite surprised by winning an award. The first was in 2002, when I took Honorable Mention from among more than 300 paintings displayed in the Salão de Artes da Marinha. In the Salão da Primavera of the Brazilian Society of Fine Arts [September, 2002], I also received an Honorable Mention. I won a bronze medal in the 17º Salão de Natureza Morta of the Brazilian Society of Fine Arts in 2003, and another in the I Mostra de Arte Monocromática.

"My preference is for floral themes, still lifes and landscapes that I express in diverse artistic languages, from the classic to the abstract. When I feel inspired, I spend the entire day painting. These are very special moments that transport me to the universe inside the canvas.
