"I am Bukola Eyitayo, born in western Ghana on 1 August 1965. My parents are from Nigeria, where we moved to later on, and where I went to school.
"I began to study Textile Design in the Yaba College of Education in Lagos, Nigeria, in the year 1992/93. However, later I found fulfillment while studying painting at Ibadan Polytechnic (Nigeria). I completed my studies in 1997.
"I have since been painting as well as teaching art in different colleges. I can boldly say without any regret, that I feel the most fulfilled when I hold the brush and palette to express myself on the canvas.
"Generally speaking, my themes center on the metamorphosis and developmental stages of African peoples and structures. I focus on the life stages and the experience of a growing child and the elderly. In appreciation of the works rendered by the Divine Creator, I tend to accentuate on the characteristics of the female figure.
"I have held some exhibitions within Nigeria, as well as in Ghana, including the 2001 PANAFEST exhibit, which is now at a permanent site in Cape Coast.
"My ambition in life is to uphold the traditions and the culture of the African people through art. Let art be promoted so the creative tendency in every man is discovered and encouraged through art promotions. Let everyman know that Art is the mother of all inventions."
