Sri Istiyarti

"I'm the wife of a painter and we have a beautiful daughter born in 2001. She is very smart and keeps us busy answering her unpredictable questions. We are a Javanese family but live in Bali and have formed part of Balinese society for almost five years. Before moving here, I worked in a textile company as a designer. Designing and painting have been my favorite things in life since I was in secondary school.

"The magic hand of God has created many beautiful things on earth and through my own hands, with feeling, I capture their beauty and interpret it in my paintings. They speak mostly about nature and its enchantment.

"I became acquainted with Novica through my husband and friends, and wanted to be able to share my appreciation of nature with people around the world."

Sri Istiyarti has shown her work in a number of Indonesian venues.
