"Hello, I'm Gabriela from the state of Nuevo León. I was literally born into the world of art because my mother was a renowned artist. I played with brushes instead of dolls, because I used to sit beside her as she painted. That's how, even at a young age, I developed a need to express my feelings on the canvas. I've always been fascinated by color, and I use it freely in my art.
"I have been fortunate enough to have studied with great artists, beginning with my mother who taught me the basics. My teachers include renowned Mexican artists such as Damián de la Rosa, Fernando Cervantes, and Alfredo García among others.
"I also studied fashion design in Mexico, and design at the American Institute of Floral Design and Art, A. C., where I learned about natural design, mixed techniques, etc.
"My passion for art has been such a wonderful experience that it completes me in every sense imaginable.
"I have exhibited my work in Mexico as well as in the Unites States, and a Canadian firm has commissioned about 80 original compositions to be printed as lithographs. My work is included in several permanent exhibitions throughout the United States. I have been honored with distinctions and awards presented by the private and public sectors in Mexico."
