Damar Permono Djati

Damar Permono Djati was born in Java on April 30, 1971, and grew up amid farmers. His parents are hard workers; they work day and night raising a variety of tropical fruits, which they sell as the means of their family subsistence. As the older brother of one sister, Djati had to work hard to help his parents in supporting their children’s education. Unfortunately, he was forced to give up his education.

Djati was interested in painting, but he had not enough money to support his hobby and continue his education into the higher levels. In 1986, he went to a friend's house and saw various kinds of paintings there, all of them his friend's works. When Djati asked his friend, he eagerly taught Djati how to paint. In addition, he learned a great deal about painting from Sumitro. In 1990 Djati moved to Bali to improve his ability.

He has taken part in numerous exhibitions throughout Indonesia.
