"Hi, I'm Omar and I graduated from ITESO University in 1990, with a degree in Communications. For a while, I delved in the art of repoussé work focusing on religious pieces, landscapes, etc. I designed my own technique and I was impressed to see how people reacted to my work and quickly accepted it. I made different designs and worked on scales of different sizes, so my work stood out for being original and different.
"Little by little I got deeper into the world of art, always with the purpose of innovating techniques and procedures that would allow for greater customer satisfaction. I am mainly concerned with how a client receives my work, and how satisfied she or he is with it. I also try to work rapidly and efficiently, without sacrificing quality. This has given me the vision to develop a technique working with resins, which I combine with painting and sculpture. Among my works, the main themes are women, marine life and Greco-Roman figures – all rendered in high relief.
"I have worked on an innumerable amount of projects, including interior décor, metal work, furniture, painting and sculpture. As time goes by, clients have become more appreciative of my work.
"I have within me a certain degree of enthusiasm that propels me to create and open new worlds; to try out different artistic paths and to collaborate with other artists. In that way, I recently completed two new collections – Intermezzo and Crystal. Intermezzo combines painting and drawings on wooden boards covered with corrugated card paper, and tied with rope. The Crystal line, on the other hand, features sculptures set on frosted crystal. Working alongside famed artist Patricia García, we created a concept that blends sculpture and painting, which we called 'Exercises of Present Time.'
"I have also developed a line of high relief sculptures as wall adornments, which I make from bronze, fiberglass, oils, and silver and nickel incrustations.
"With the passing of the years I developed what I term a project of life, which I called Fine Art. It focuses on art and interior design, and is based on the 'Philosophy of the Magician' that is,
the Magician is she or he who feels fortunate for the possibilities of living in the here and now. In other words, the magician can be me, can be you; it is whoever decides to live life this way.
"My mission is to take nature to all the corners of the world, through art. In that regard, I am proud to say my work has been well received not only locally, but also in Los Cabos, Querétaro and Acapulco as well as abroad. My work is featured in galleries in the United States (Long Beach and Las Vegas), Europe, Australia and Iceland."
