"Exploring every technique of metal etching continues to be the focal point of my work. I am fascinated by the challenge posed by the execution of
aqua fortis and
aquatint printing techniques. This challenge is the reason why I prefer working with these techniques; it is my motivation. There are such profound and special nuances, that only a trained eye can tell the differences in tones that go from light, soft gray hues to a black that is deep and intense. All tonalities are present, enriching the work beyond measure.
"This technique insinuates itself on the creative moment like a force that flourishes in every work. The path taken during the process of execution is slow and rendered by hand. It starts with the conception of the images, of the poetic imagination, until it reaches a concrete form in the realization of the project, transferring it to the metal plate through various techniques, its chemical etching and finally the print. It is an honest and conscious work, the result of which is evident in the quality of the prints.
"By exhibiting my work I seek to establish a dialogue between that specific print and the interested public. The development of the technique should not interfere with the interrelation or the interpretation of the work in an uninterrupted dialogue with the viewer.
"I have exhibited my work throughout Brazil and abroad including Cuba, Bulgaria, France, Belgium, United States, Poland, Spain, and Japan."
