"My name is Pongchanok Charernpong. I was born on December 14, 1981 and I have one older brother. My father, who is a great painter and my first art teacher, said that Bangkok was too crowded and polluted for our health, and chose a rural area for our new home. This area is very beautiful and calm. I think that for an artistic family like ours, this is the perfect place for a new life. Here I have been inspired to learn more about the arts.
"I have loved painting ever since I was young. Part of my interest comes from my father. He is a famous painter in the central region of the country and has been praised for his classic painting. He has always taken care of his family as well. Everyday, when he has time, he will recommend something and give me some advice for my most recent paintings. I can develop my own ideas and create a new painting under his consultation. I am very proud of him and love him very much, and also dare to present my paintings to other people. This is because my brother doesn't want to do it. He wants to become a government officer. That's why I am the one who receives my father's skills. My mother also critiques my paintings. She is the homemaker and manages everything in our house. These two people are my inspiration to confidently move forward in the arts.
"Before starting my work, I must study the details, history, and everything else about my subject in order to understand the task and what it involves. My work has changed a bit over the past five years. In the past, I loved painting in the abstract style, and now I am interested in realism. I think this style can present things from the real world and people can understand it more easily. However, I also include my own feelings in the picture by making it have soft or darkened shades and any details I want. I try to make it better and better. In the future, I dream of having my own gallery to present the phases of my work and show it to people who come in. In this country, there are few people who can be successful artists. But I want to be the one who can do it."
