"Hi, this is Amita Sachdeva from Madya Pradesh. My childhood was a whirlwind, I visited a lot of places because I come from an Army background. Having lived in different places has made me a more mature and broad-minded person.

"Painting has been my passion ever since my childhood. I used to decorate my home as a child and often participated in floral arrangement shows. I was so inclined towards the magic of art that even before I graduated from Delhi University, I started teaching what I know about art. Eventually I did my B. Ed. and also a Diploma in Textile designing.

"My husband has been my source of inspiration. He has been always there for me. Though he is a Chartered Accountant by profession, he advises on every decision-making.

"Everyday is a new experience for me. My dream came true when I opened my own art school with a few students. And as if everything was planned, one thing led to another, slowly my passion turned into profession and no word can express how happy I am today.

"Indian art is so rich and we should try to revive it. This is what I aspire to do. I also want to teach people abroad the true and rich culture of India. I spend most of my time with my students and this gives me the reason to do even better. I have an 87-year-old student who feels my painted works are great. I feel blessed when I receive such compliments!"

Customer Reviews of Amita

I just received two of Amita's paintings. Her art is not only gorgeous, but each piece was professionally matted and framed, ready to hang. These pictures are stunning over my modern leather sofa....
