Ignez Siccuro (I.S.M.)

"My work takes people to a naïve world, more real. The tranquil life in the interior cities and the unfettered lives of the people that inhabit such sceneries are recreated with happy and lively colors. This is my favorite theme, maybe because it takes me back to my childhood in Santa Catarina, southern Brazil.

"I only began painting when I became a widow after 46 years of marriage. This is when I left Rio de Janeiro to live in the countryside, in a hillside village where I was able to find inner peace and the pleasure of painting. I call my paintings my little houses. It's like I've found a new place for my soul."
