Nan Supinna

"My name is Saisunee Supinna, but friends call me Nan. I am an only child but I grew up alongside two cousins, and to this day we remain very close and we look after each other as if we were siblings. We help and encourage each other when one of us is feeling down, has a problem or is ill. I feel very fortunate to have this family. I love my parents very much.

I would describe myself as usually being in a good mood. I am energetic and fun. Sometimes I can be quick tempered too. I love to play sports, especially table tennis – I play everyday. I am also interested in all forms of art. I love to read and relax, listen to the radio while drinking coffee, etc. I remember when I was young I used to be somewhat naughty. I didn't care for studying and my only concern was to play with my friends. As I began to grow older, I realized my main interest lied in the field of art. I am about to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Art.

"My family follows Thai customs and traditions very closely, so my parents educated me to become a good person and to do good. On Buddhist holidays, we always take food offerings to the monks, and we go to the temple and listen to the sermon. I lead a life of goodness and I am content with my self.

"Art is a person's unique and innate talent, and its up to that person to develop, it with the proper guidance. When you realize you have an artistic potential and you use it, you know you can only be happy if you make full use of it, and you derive enjoyment from the creative process. I am happiest when I create works of art. I like to follow the flow of the line, feel the warmth exuding from every line.

"My first works were inspired by my childhood toys. I transform their images and blend them with my imagination. Before I embark on a new piece, I make sure I have everything I need, that my idea is clear as well as the process. My plan for the future is to continue creating works of art, develop and improve my art so that it is regarded as new and innovative. I want to be known as one of Thailand's 'new generation artist.'
