"I was born in Rio de Janeiro, in the Laranjeiras neighborhood. My interest for art – mainly painting – had its beginnings when I was still a child. I liked drawing a lot, but painting was really my passion. I remember as though it were yesterday how I'd convince my father to pose while I drew him over and over. My school friends knew my preference for art and they admired my talent. My family supported my choice but, at the time, they didn't have the necessary resources so that I could study and perfect my talent.
"For many years, I continued creating my artwork, still self-taught, painting landscapes. It wasn't until 1979 that I could begin to accomplish my dream of studying art. I signed up for a painting course in the
Colméia de Pintores do Brasil where my work developed further. Beginning in 1994, I had the opportunity to study with other great artists, as the Chilean teacher Mory, and Professor Garro of Brazil.
"Art for me is more than a hobby. It is a passion! I feel drawn toward what I do and this is why I want to awaken this passion in others through my creations. I am always careful to select and utilize materials of good quality, because even in this way I demonstrate my devotion to art. I hope to captivate people all over the world by showing my works. I hope this relationship with Novica goes well."
