A. Sofyan

Influenced by his friend, Sofyan became interested in painting in 1990 and embarked upon his path of studies. In his spare time away from school, he went to his uncle's house to learn painting from him. Over time he became confident with his skills, selling some of his works to neighbors – at a low price, but it was a good start.

At times Sofyan finds it difficult to express his ideas with brushes and complete his works, but this is the eternal dilemma of the artist. However, he never tires of learning and experimenting, always working hard to achieve what he believes in.

"I want to infuse my paintings with a sense of serenity. I hope people enjoy my work," says the artist. He has extensively exhibited his paintings throughout the island of Bali.
