Jiraporn

" My name is Jiraporn Nantawang or you can call me 'Pick.' I was born on February 22, 1982 – in the month of love. My parents are farmers. I have one older sister and one younger sister. My family lives in Doisaket district, a very long distance from my university so I stay in a woman's dormitory there. My family is close, loving and level-headed when solving problems.

"I'm a fun-loving woman, good at human relations, benevolent and quick to pardon. I have a lot of friends and care for them so much. While I was a child, I was in close touch with nature near the mountains, sky, rice fields and forests. My talent for drawing and music became evident while I was small. I play Thai instruments, especially the shoo u and sa law, stringed instruments. I've never stopped playing these because it's a way to keep this tradition alive. Every time I play, I feel calm and centered. I feel the same way about my art. I currently major in fine art. I love my freedom, love nature and love my art, and I want to practice it all my life.

"Making today good – not for only me but for my family too – is my life concept. I keep this in mind. Now, I'm staying with my parents. It's not an exciting life but family is very important for me and I love them so much. That is enough for me. My role models are my parents. They keep everyone around them filled with hope. If the light of hope does not leave me, I want to study for a master's degree. I want to find a good job and earn enough to take care of my parents and make a good life for all of us."
