'Daydream Women' (2005)

Earth's warmth and nature's serenity merge in this painting by Peruvian artist Dinyo. He paints with a well-chosen palette of oil paints to create a warm, peaceful mood for this composition. Alternating between brush and palette knife, the artist reveals the nude bodies of women as they dance unabashed in the artist's daydreams.

Titled "Mujeres de ensueño" in Spanish.

"My father instilled in me a passion for art. When he didn't go to work, he'd go the fields with a piece of wood and when he returned, he'd carve something amazing inspired by what he'd seen that day. I loved helping him.

"However, when I was in high school, no one else shared my passion for art, which would make me feel quite lonely. One day, I just went up to the town hall and enrolled in some art classes. My teacher helped me so much, he taught me all the different techniques and soon I was exhibiting my work, either through collective or individual exhibits.

"I lean more towards neo-figurative abstraction and I paint only when I feel the right kind of inspiration. I am a perfectionist and I am always searching for ways to improve my work, so when I paint I must feel calm and meditative.

"I lock myself in my studio to paint. My wife is my muse most times. I also like to go to the fields and observe animals. Horses inspire me considerably too.

"I hope you like my work as much as I love to create it!"

Dinyo is the artistic name of Domingo Inga Yovera. The name includes 'D' from Domingo; 'in' from Inga; and 'yo' from Yovera.
