'Dimensions of Color'

Like beams and girders in a vast building, Attapon paints a labyrinthine framework that encloses empty space. Blue and aqua predominate in the nearest planes while red, orange and yellow in the distance suggest electric lighting. Complex and compelling, this dramatic abstract constantly offers new vistas to discover.

"Hello! My name's Attapon Wattanakit, and my nickname is Mod. I was born on February 28, 1982. I am an only son and my parents worked as government officers. After my father died, my mother re-married. My stepfather and I are very close, I always talk with him when I have a problem and he gives good advice - he is also very kind. We are a warm family. The way to live life for me is to start doing something the best I can today, for I shall reap the rewards tomorrow. My life is relaxed, smooth and cool. I learn things taking my time, and am quite happy about it because I mostly learn what I love.

"I am currently studying a Bachelor's Degree at the Fine Arts Institute of Technology. I have been drawn to art ever since I was a young child because my mother loves art. She frequently drew and taught me the basics and it became kind of our shared hobby. After graduating from high school, I studied architecture at a technical college and had the chance to learn art from a senior student. He graduated in Fine Arts and showed me how to look at art with a different eye. In fact, he indirectly inspired me to choose art instead of architecture. Not only did I learn to appreciate the beauty of art, but it also gave rise to untold emotions. I was then so awe-struck by the beauty of art that I wanted to learn in a more serious form. That's when I decided to change my BA to Art.

"My current style is to paint architectural shapes with artistic techniques, to create modern works. I either alternate or overlap enticing dimensions and solid shapes. Lights and perspectives add a silent yet pleasing feeling to shapes and colors.

"Novica offers a good opportunity for Thai artists, thus myself. I would like to thank you for allowing us to sell what I create with love. I would also want to say to the viewers living overseas, that art is beautiful, even if made a long time ago with ancient techniques. Art isn't old fashioned, art satisfies – art is life! Also, please keep checking Novica's website and my work, because I will be constantly creating and developing my art."
