"Today I feel happy and fulfilled... My new phase has been warmly welcomed, which is very inspiring."
"I began to paint in 1976, at first nature themes in an Impressionist style. I studied painting a lot, my classrooms were the streets in beautiful locations of colonial architecture such as Largo do Boticário or the Urca neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro.
"From the year 2000 onwards my painting underwent a big transformation, I took a great deviation, I began a work imbued with Expressionism and I began to place on the canvas that which was inside of me. I learned to be more patient, to annul a work and to persist with my objectives. This turning point, besides surprising my colleagues who were accustomed to my sea and landscapes and floral themes, was as if I had always had in me the ability to create my own style for my work, always marked by strong colors and violent contrasts.
"Today I feel happy and fulfilled. I have participated in various exhibits and I have also been invited to judge several events related to art. My new phase has been warmly welcomed, which is very inspiring. I am a relentless artist, I pass days and nights painting so I'm certain my work is evolving with each day that passes by.
"Novica is an interesting medium through which one can exhibit and sell one's work. Internet has not yet attained in Brazil the same degree of development it has nowadays in the USA, but one day we'll get there."
