Pairat

"My name is Pairat Sawasdisara or Iang. I was born in Bangkok in 1961 but I moved to Chaing Mai in 2000 and I really do love northern Thailand. I grew up in a big family and everybody always supported me and cheered me up.

"I love art and I had already begun creating artwork when I was 16. I never studied or graduated from art school, but the reason I create art is because I love it. I learned by myself and from everything around me. I also got some advice from many artists.

"I work in a variety of media such as patchwork, watercolor on paper, acrylic on paper and porcelain painting. My themes come from my feelings and my imagination mixed with reality.

"The culture here in the north is very important to my work and I enjoy depicting the culture and lifestyle.

"I love to live in a good and peaceful atmosphere in harmony with nature, and this place has everything for me. I have a happy life and try to be content in every moment. When I am creating art, I feel filled with joy. And I'd be thrilled if I can make someone happy through my work."
