Oscar Chuquispuma

Born July 23, 1979, Oscar Chuquispuma graduated from the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes (Superior School of Fine Arts) and has dedicated his time to painting since 1998. He works principally in oils.

"I develop my works with the intense colors of the Andean landscape," he says. "I try to value and portray the Peruvian countryside, and exalt the small towns there. My palette is one of nostalgia."

Chuquispuma has exhibited his work throughout Peru, winning awards both in his homeland and in France ("Passport for an Artist"). He has led small workshops for children in the Museum of the Nation in Lima. "I am very happy to have found a medium that permits me to express my feelings and passions – painting," he confides.
